Investigate - Body Trunk
Overview and Meaning
After the actor mouse has attended and approached the recipient mouse, it will begin investigating the recipient's body. Generally, the actor begins investigating a less intrusive area first (i.e. body trunk), before moving onto a more intimate area. The body trunk area is the bulk of the mouse's body and does not include the facial or anogenital areas. After investigating this less intrusive area, and if the recipient is still receptive to exploration, the actor may move on to more intimate areas like the anogenital or facial regions.
Description
Investigation of the body of the recipient mouse excluding the anogenital and facial regions.
